About Kelly

Hi! I’m Kelly Pitcher, the owner of Reception Perfection. I have been coordinating weddings and special events since 1999. My husband, Todd, helped me get started when he encouraged me to take the position as a wedding coordinator for his father's church.

After a few years of experience under my belt, and completing two programs for event professionals I launched my own company, Reception Perfection. I have been enjoying my dream job ever since.

In 2008, I was offered the opportunity to work with the Ocean House of Carlsbad as an independent contractor. I have now been their Social Events Director for just over two years. You have GOT to see this place...it has elegance and Victorian charm with a subtle coastal influence. NOT your stuffy hotel ballroom...that is for sure! The Ocean House is located 2 blocks from the beach in Carlsbad Village. They offer great prices, great food and superior service.

In partnership with the Carlsbad Inn, Ocean House helps you plan an outdoor, ocean view wedding with an amazing reception at a unique venue. A southern California dream!

Take a look at my blog and take a see some weddings and events I did before starting my exclusive work with the Ocean House!

I have awesome 9-year-old twin daughters that never cease to amaze me.

We never take down the
Christmas Tree at our house.
I call it the "Holiday Tree" and the girls and I love to decorate it for every imaginable holiday.

This is what it looks like for
Valentines Day:

Arbor Day is by far the easiest.
The tree just gets to be
a "tree" for the day!

This is our "HallowIrthday" Tree. The twins were born on October 27th and we don't want to take down their birthday decor on the 28th just to do a Halloween tree for 3 or 4 days...

So, the top of the tree where they can't quite reach is all Halloween stuff (Note - scary black spidey).
Each of them get a side of the lower ("birthday") part of the tree to decorate however they choose and ~voila~ we have a "HallowIrthday" Tree!

I love the color pink, feathers and disco balls. Turning cupcakes into mini pieces of art is super fun - even though I don't like cake. (My neighbors reap the rewards!)

I'm a sucker for *trying* new things with my daughters. Example photo below:...

Skateboarding?? I still don't know what I was thinking; you can only imagine how many bruises I got from falling!

Of course I PhotoShopped myself with the skateboard on to the Great Wall of China...I hope to go there some day. (WITH OUT the skateboard!)

I can't stand "Hot Cheetos"
(What's wrong with Original Cheetos?)
